The Dual Meet at Mt. Tahoma HS has been cancelled; we will be rescheduling for a future date.

 

 POSEIDON SKI TRIP – FEBRUARY 17TH.  

 

Come join your Poseidon team members on a fun filled snowy day at White Pass!

Paul Chung is organizing a ski/snowboard trip on February 17th and has arranged to include Poseidon swimmers in a reduced ticket opportunity (price list attached).  We will not have practice on this day and what better way to get in some cross-training.  😊  Please contact Paul directly at Paul.Chung@pcli.com.

 

MAAPP – for USA Swimming

 

You should have received an email last week with revised documents for the “Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy”; please ready the policy and complete the acknowledgement form.  This is a new program from USA Swimming that we need to comply with in order to stay in good standing. Audra will put your signed copy with the other swimmer forms that  you completed in September (or when your swimmer joined Poseidon).  Please contact Audra if you have any questions.

 

Poseidon Board Meeting, Tuesday January 7th in the game room at Thorbeckes – 6 PM.          

 

NUTRITION:  After heredity and training, nutrition plays the largest role in the quality of a swimmer's performance.  HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE!!!

Every swimmer should have a water bottle at the end of their training lane.  Swimmers sweat during their workouts; the same amount of dehydration occurs during a swim workout as does a person doing a “dry” workout.  REMEMBER your water bottle every day.  It is just as important as your cap, suit, and goggles.  You wouldn’t come to swim practice without one of them – don’t come without your water bottle.

Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.
