Canyons sends 8 Individual Qualifiers to the Winter Junior National Championship

Canyons sends 8 Individual Qualifiers to the 2019 Winter Junior National Championships!

Canyons Aquatic Club had 8 individual qualifiers compete at the 2019 West Speedo Junior National Championships in Federal Way, WA, from December 11-14.  Only 3 other teams from SCS sent more swimmers to Juniors than Canyons!  Our swimmers represented well considering 6 out of the 8 were competing at a USA Swimming National level meet for the first time.  Kyle Brill had an outstanding meet, achieving 3 out of 4 best times in the 200 IM (1:52.93), 100 BR (56.44), & 200 BR (2:03.51).  Riley Botton swam best times in the 50 FR (23.51), and the 100 BK leading off the 400 MED-Relay (58.31).  Ike Harms swam best times in the 50 FR (21.13), and the 100 FR (46.15) lead off split for the 400 FR-Relay.  Iza Adame placed 13th in the 100 BR (1:02.30).  Charlie Morici made finals in 3 events scoring the most points for Canyons, placing 10th in the 100 FL (47.97) and 200 FL (1:47.81), and 22nd in the 100 BK (49.21)

Julia Unas – 200 BR, 200 IM Bonus, 100 BR Bonus

Women’s Relays – 200 MED, 400 MED, 200 FR, 400 FR
