Blackshirts Finish 2nd at Marquette Swimming & Diving Invite

Over the weekend the Blackshirt swimmers and divers finished 2nd at the 26th annual Marquette Invite.  The meet is the largest and most competitive invite of the season outside of the WIAA tournament with 26 teams competing this year.  

The Blackshirts finished 2 points behind Sun Prairie in the team rankings despite missing one of their key members.

Leading the way for the Blackshirts were:

  • Jacob Carlson (1st place 100 freestyle; 1st place 100 backstroke ***meet record***)
  • Caleb Blischke (3rd place 200 freestyle; 3rd place 500 freestyle)
  • Nolan Scanlan (5th place 100 backstroke; 8th place 100 butterfly)
  • Blake Baertlein (5th place 100 breaststroke; 6th place 200 IM)
  • Sam Lanham (11th place 500 freestyle; 15th place 200 freestyle)


  • 200 Medley Relay (Carlson, Baertlein, Scanlan, Joe Esterle) 3rd place
  • 200 Freestyle Relay (Baertlein, Joe Esterle, Blischke, Lanham) 6th place
  • 400 Freestyle Relay (Blischke, Carlson, Scanlan, Lanham) 2nd place
