Quote of the week: “There is nothing more tragic than to find an individual bogged down in the length of life, devoid of breadth.” Martin Luther King
Hello Foxjet swimmers and families-
Thanks again to so many who volunteered for the second weekend in a row at either the distance meet or the bronze invitational(or both)! Foxjet officials and other volunteers have been working hard for the team to make all these events happen, and you are all very much appreciated. It was another great weekend of swimming, too and all the results can be found on the meet results page. It's also a great time to check out your swimmer's best times on the top times page. As we head into the championship meets, each swimmer will need to know what is the highest level meet for which they qualify to compete.
Foxjets continues to have a lot going on this week. An email went out yesterday as a reminder about the Foxjet Bingo this Saturday, January 25th. Don't forget to email Aditi Salunke if you can help out. Looks like it will be another fun time at the Flying Dutchman, and an easy way to help out the team.
There are also a couple calendar changes to note, so please check out the January monthly calendars.
Edina Bronze Invitational-February 2
West Express Invitational-February 8-9
Rochester Vince Herring-February 14-16
Group lead coaches have begun to send out emails outlining the goals for Championship meet sign up! Make sure you read those carefully and send questions to your group coaches if you are unsure. We are fast approaching the end of the season and the time for the athletes to shine and reach the goals they have worked for all season.
Minnesota Achievement Championships-February 22-23(Foxjets hosted): This meet is for those swimmers with pre-bronze and bronze times in events. They do no accept "no times" so a swimmer has to have legally competed in an event and achieved a time. Swimmers can compete at MAC to achieve best times or new Silver times!
Minnesota Regional Championships-February 28-March 1(Hutchinson, MN): This is a scored, team competition for those swimmers with Silver and Gold times(no bronze, no champ or faster). MRC is the meet that most Foxjet swimmers qualify for. It is a great chance to compete for new best times, new Gold times, new Champ times and to contribute points for the overall team competition.
Minnesota Senior State Championships(March 5-8 at the U of M) and Minnesota Age Group State Championships(March 12-15 in Rochester): Both State Championships require Minnesota Champ(state) times. This is a very challenging level to qualify for and Foxjets encourages swimmers to be working toward this level and compete for the team! Foxjets also includes "relay only" swimmers for the State Meets. Swimmers are the State level are seeking to achieve new times standards for meets beyond the borders of Minnesota such Central Zones Championships and NCSA Junior Nationals!
NCSA Junior Nationals(March 17-21 in Orlando): Foxjets will be taking the qualifiers for this meet down to Orlando to compete with many of the best 18 and under swimmers in the U.S.A!
