Last Ditch Meet Information :
Warm up times have been posted to the meet page. Please make sure you are at the meet at least 10 minutes ahead of your assigned warm up time. Athletes’ entry information can be found on your meet page (click on the “Edit Commitment” Button while you are logged on to the website). Athletes not participating in the meet - please remember that there will be no age group practices on Saturday 2/1.
Championship Practice and Post-Season Practice Schedules:
As we enter into the final phase of our short course competition season, we will need to modify our practice calendar slightly. There is some added confusion due to the fact that we are training athletes towards different culminating events - so our usual training groups start modifying slightly. The majority of our athletes will follow the new schedule for their respective training group unless they have a JO Cut or are 8&under. Schedule will be posted tonight (or early tomorrow depending on how accommodating our website is!)
Athletes who are Age 8 or younger (as of the first day of the Barbara Kay Mini Meet 2/29) will form the MiniSquad effective Feb3 and will continue to follow that schedule until the Barbara Kay Mini Meet. They will then go back to Bronze1/2 after the Barbara Kay Meet.
Athletes who have less than 5 JO Cuts will likely continue with their training group through to the Regional Meet. They will start with the JO training group on Wednesday 2/19. Athletes with more than 5 JO Cuts should talk to Coach CJ about a customized practice plan as we lead into the Regional Meet.
Once athletes have finished their “season culminating meet” (Regionals, Mini Meet, or Junior Olympics) they are invited to continue training on an abbreviated schedule. These “Post season” practices will be run as all age groups combined and will focus on stroke and technique work in a clinic format. These practices are entirely optional. After the JO Meet (March 13-15), all groups will be completely off until April 13th when we resume our Spring Training season in preparation for Long Course Championship Meets in July.
High School/Senior: Goal/Ideal talks have started. That signals that rest (taper time) is very close by. Visualization will begin this week. Although, good practice at all times, swimmers especially need to protect all the gains they’ve made throughout the season as we head into championships. This involves, sleep, nutrition, staying ahead in school, limiting social and extraordinary/unfamiliar events, increased focus on specifics and essentials, and, of course, diligence in practice attendance. Exciting times over the next month!
Gold 2 : No practice on Saturday 2/1 due to meet.
Gold 1 : No practice on Saturday 2/1 due to meet.
Silver 2 : No practice on Saturday 2/1 due to meet.
Silver 1 : No practice on Saturday 2/1 due to meet.

Waves Group - If you are not signed up for the meet this weekend, you are invited to participate in a special practice with Coach Jim @ JC Pool from 10-11 AM on Saturday February 1st. This will be the final practice of this session of Waves. If you intend to participate in the February session for 8&unders, please get signed up through the WAC website (WAVES tab on the main page). Athletes 9 years old and above will have a break during Feb/March, and we would love to see you back in the Spring Waves session which starts 4/13. Signups for that session are available now.
