Gators Excel at NCHSAA 1A/2A State Championships

Several Gators competed at the NCHSAA 1A/2A State Championships.

Croatan’s Men’s team, coached by ECA’s Mikaela Edge, placed 4th in the meet following strong 200 Medley and 200 Free Relays.  Colby Lovelace, Jack McCabe, Matthew McCray, and Will Barker narrowly missed the State Record in the 200 Medley in their win.  They later took down the State Record in the 200 Free Relay by .10, clocking 1:27.07.  Congratulations to these former Gators for an awesome performance.

Croatan’s Women’s 200 Free Relay, featuring Gators Teal Edholm and MJ Klaumann, placed 13th.  They also placed 12th in the 400 Free Relay.  Klaumann made finals in the 50 Free and placed 10th.  

East Carteret’s Jack Nowacek placed 8th in the Men’s 50 Free and 9th in the 500 Free.

Southwest Edgecombe’s Berlyn Perdomo placed 3rd in the 200 Free and 6th in the 500 Free.

Washington’s Men’s Team featured Gators Breaden Beach, Patrick Lovenberg, Tristan Pake, and Tripp Pippin.  The quartet placed 8th in the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Free relay.  Beach, Lovenberg, and Pippin were part of the 200 Free Relay which finished 14th.  Pake placed 10th in the 100 Fly.  Lovenberg placed 8th in the 100 Breast.
