Districts, Rested and Ready, and JO Recap Plus Flight to Tokyo

How dominant was EMAC at District XI Championships?

EMAC was on fire over this last weekend and many people took notice.

While other teams overemphasize early success, we have a patient approach with our young swimmers where we focus on technique, permit other commitments, and slowly increase their commitment and swimming abilities.  When it comes to being competitive in this sport, we want our swimmers to slowly increase their competitiveness so that we mazimize their swimming success when it High School!!!  We are beginning to see tremendous success with this approach.  However, we are not yet satisfied...we have much work to do.

For now, take a moment to review our recap of how our swimmers performed at Districts, Rested and Ready, and JO's.

Julia Cort, Sophia Harmon, Caroline Hattala, Christian Hazlett, Alexis Hoyer, Izzy Johnson, Graham Lovett, Gavin Mahon, Emmi Pechulis, and Sammy Pechulis represented EMAC very well at JO's.

For the first time in a long time, EMAC had multiple age groups with relays at JO's.  Our 11-12 girls and our 9-10 Boys gained valuable experience in relays and they had a BLAST!!!

Our 12 year-old girls also got to experience putting on tech suits for the first time, and they learned a valuable's not the suit that makes you's the technique, training, and desire that makes you fast.  Well done, EMAC JO crew!!!!

I can't believe I didn't fall into the pool.  Our coaching staff was going crazy and we were just following the lead of our swimmers who went crazy fast!!!  There are 16 individual events at Districts.  EMAC swimmers won 9 of them.  The next closest club team was PSC with 4.  AMAZING efforts from our swimmers...and there are 13 EMAC swimmers going to states.

11 EMAC Swimmers Made PIAA States in Individual Events!!!!

Gio Germano, Michael Iacobelli, Devin Metzger, Mya Puentes, Luke Rautzhan, Peyton Rautzhan, Lauren Sharp, Connor Shriver, Nick Soares, Chloe Vlaeminck, and Andy Wendling all made PIAA States in individual events!!!

Meanwhile, Bella Buchman and Matt Wendling had HUGE swims in their relays to help lead their teams to PIAA State qualification as well.

In only the second year of the meet, we had too many amazing swims to properly recap.  From an 8 second drop in the 200 BR by Ryan DeJohn to qualify for Senior Champs to Connor Shriver going a 1:54.0 in the 200 BK after claiming he was shooting for a 1:58, it was really just unbeleivable to see how many swimmers were able to use that opportunity to follow up their district events with more great swims.

You can't make this stuff up!!! We are EXACTLY 100 miles short of our desitnation heading into Bronze Champs.  We have now travelled 6607 miles of the 6707 miles to Tokyo.  If this is news to you or you are wondering what this is all have to start reading your emails.  Start with this one.

It's your turn!!!

We are on fire!  We are having fun!  One of you will be the one to put EMAC over the top in our quest to reach Tokyo!!!

I'm so excited that it is CHAMPS SEASON.
