[UPDATE] ALL DPR FACILITIES CLOSED & PRACTICES CANCELLED | MARCH 16 - ARPIL 27

UPDATE - MARCH 21, 2020

Due to updates in the COVID-19 pandemic, Mayor Bowser has extended the District of Columbia Government’s modified operating status until April 27, including the adjusted DC Government operating posture and distance learning at the District’s public schools. This also includes the operating status for all DPR facilities and programs. For more information regarding the District’s response to coronavirus (COVID-19), visit coronavirus.dc.gov.

We have spent the last few days like many of you have, glued to every update, hoping for this situation to turn. USA Swimming has suspended all events for 30 days including Sectionals, Zones, TYR Pro Series. Potomac Valley has also suspended all meet sanctions for 30 days. The Black Heritage Meet in Cary, NC has been cancelled this year. Numerous professional sports leagues have ended their seasons, and the NCAA has cancelled all Winter and Spring Championships.

As we begin to process our new reality, it is important to keep in mind what is most important - the health and safety of all team members, coaches, and their families. In that effort, from Monday, March 16, 2020 to Tuesday, March 31, 2020, all DPR Facilities will be closed and all programs, services, activities, events, and permits (indoor and outdoor) have been cancelled. This includes all DC Wave Swim Team practices and swim meets.

We will provide regular updates about our restoration of operations, through web, social media and email. Residents can also visit dpr.dc.gov and dprcustomercare.com for DPR updates. After March 31 we hope to resume team operations if allowed. We will reasses the situation at that time, and notify all team members of next steps. Thank you for understanding DC’s commitment to the safety of our community, patrons, and staff. For more information regarding the District’s response to coronavirus (COVID-19), visit coronavirus.dc.gov.
