Update as of 3/14/20

Dear JCC Members,

As we shared with you yesterday, we have been following the COVID-19 situation closely and awaiting directives from state and local  government officials as well as the Allegheny County Health Department.

We are aware of reports of a first presumptive positive case of COVID-19 in Allegheny County.

With this information in hand and in anticipation of a mandated closure of recreation and child care facilities as occurred in the eastern portion of the state earlier this week, the JCC is  SUSPENDING regular operations of all programs and services effective 6 pm this evening for a minimum of 14 days until at least March 30th.   We will continue to keep you informed via electronic communication and  social media as events warrant.

For those of you who participate in AgeWell at the JCC and its congregate meal program, we are attending a scheduled meeting with the Allegheny County Area Agency on Aging on Monday to discuss possible “grab and go” meals in light of the facility closure.

For clients of PT at the JCC Powered by the JAA, look for direct communication in the coming hours as we coordinate with the JAA regarding transition plans for needed medical services.

Per our notice yesterday, we have set up a dedicated email inbox for your inquiries at   Please bear with us as we prepare our workforce to support our membership and business operations remotely and continue to follow our website at for additional information and updates.

As this rapidly evolving situation continues to unfold, the JCC will continue to work closely with our local health authorities and government leaders to support our community through this public health crisis as we have proudly done for 125 years.

We thank you for your support and patience at this unprecedented time.
