News from the Pool- Week of March 16

I appreciate the incredible messages of support that you have sent to keep our virtual doors open during this challenging time in our community’s history.  Our goal is to keep our swimmers engaged and active, physically and emotionally, during this time. Their well-being is our number one priority!

POOL CLOSURES:   We are waiting to see when our pools reopen and will let you know when we can resume regular programming.  Until then, we have a few options. If you haven’t already done so, please use this form to let us know how you’d like to proceed.  If we do NOT hear from you, we will keep you on the active roster.

ONLINE PROGRAMMING: The coaches are working diligently to prepare our online learning community for our swimmers.  We will launch this tomorrow to all our active members. Thank you so much for your patience and your faith in our team.  We appreciate your support of our program so we can keep our coaches on staff and team running during this sudden shutdown.

PARENT RESOURCE: My favorite author, Julie Lythcott-Haims from How to Raise an Adult, facilitated a great webinar yesterday about “ Parenting in the age of Coronavirus .” As students head home from campus and school-age children lobby for playdates, how can parents hold the line when it comes to recommended social distancing? Is there such a thing as a reasonable playdate? What steps jeopardize your household or the country? How many days can any of us expect to hold out against a whiny, cooped-up tween?

The panelists offered practical advice to parents about what to say to children of all ages to explain the risks, the family’s need for safety, and our responsibility as members of the community. For more information, see their individual websites:
