March 16, 2020
You may have received an email from South Shore YMCA CEO Paul Gorman at approximately 12:00pm today, March 16th. In the email, a decision was made, very carefully, to close the branches of the South Shore YMCA. With the unprecedented circumstances happening around our immediate area, the country and the world, this prudent decision is to ensure the utmost safety and well being of all YMCA participants. A reopen date of Tuesday, April 7th has been mandated.
With this decision, at this time, practices for this week, including today, Monday, March 16th have concluded until April 7th.
The silver lining to this decision is that our short course season was scheduled to end this coming Friday, March 20th anyway to which we would proceed into a few weeks of break until Monday, April 6th which would then be the beginning of long course swim season.
First day of Long Course: April 7th: All practice schedules will run on the current winter practice schedule all the way through June.
