Letter to Neptune Swimming - New dues policy

March 21, 2020

Dear Neptune Families,

We hope this message finds you safe & well.  We are in a struggle right now to contain Covid-19 and limit the effects it has on our community, while staying home is hard for us active folks, it is necessary to help flatten the curve of the virus.  Neptune Swimming would like to thank all of our parents that are nurses, medical assistants, doctors, police officers, firefighters and essential service providers.

Our staff at Neptune Swimming is guided by two goals during this trying time.

  1. Keep our staff & athletes as healthy as possible.

  2. Keep Neptune Swimming viable & solvent for our eventual return to the pool

As a 501c3 non profit organization, we do not profit off of the annual membership fees, monthly dues fees, team hosted meets, fundraisers, and any other income generating events.  We use these events to pay for coaches payroll, facility rentals, payroll taxes, workmen’s compensation, & other insurance costs plus standard expenses just like any normal month.

We recognize that everyone is struggling together and some of you have lost your jobs or have been temporarily laid off and finances are becoming a concern for each family.  With that in mind, we are reducing the dues to 50% for the month of April which we hope helps your finances and allows us to maintain paying our staff to ensure they are here for us when we return from this.  If you are willing and able to pay the full amount, please let Head coach Dan Greaves ( greaves_d@msn.com )  know and we will not adjust your dues.

We will continue working with Neptune staff to set up online dryland exercises, distribute any online swimming videos that come our way and keep up some form of communication with our athletes to keep everyone plugged into as best as possible.

We are communicating with both the city of Santa Rosa & SRJC administration regulartly to gauge a return date and get everyone swimming as soon as possible.

The strength of our swim community is truly being tested at this time and we ask that we all stick together & show support.  We can get through this together and our team will be back soon.
