HCAC Covid-19 Update 3/23/20

Greetings HCAC Swimmers and Parents;

What a time we have at hand!  The coaching staff hopes everyone are well and weathering the current situation.  HCAC swimmers have been out of the water for the past week and are probably itching to leap feet first into the pool, release unspent energy and have a moment of fluidity.  With that being said this is not likely to occur in the near future.

The CDC and White House are urging a nationwide halt to gatherings of more than 10 people for the next eight weeks, citing the risk of the coronavirus. USA Swimming said this should also include team training and practices. USA Swimming is also mandating the cancellation of all its sanctioned events across the U.S. through April 30, 2020.  Therefore, the current plan remains in place. HCAC will not practice this week (March 23 – 27). That being said do not expect practices to resume for the near future.  Information and directives are changing rapidly and on an hourly basis with the Corvid-19 epidemic.  HCAC will operate with a flexible plan that will allow normal practices to resume when conditions improve and it is safe to do so.

Workouts will continue to be distributed on a weekly basis and are meant to maintain general conditioning, improve core strength and invoke thought on technique/strategies.  Please look for additional communication from the HCAC Board in regards to financial commitments.  If there are any questions please let us know asap.
