We hope this note finds you and yours
healthy and safe. Our athletes, coaches, alumni, donors, and
volunteers make up the family that is USA Swimming and we are
grateful for your support.
These are challenging times across the
world, but our focus and commitment remain firmly on our mission,
our athletes, and our programs.
As you may have heard, the International
Olympic Committee and the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee announced
earlier today that the Olympic Games in Tokyo will be postponed
until 2021. USA Swimming fully supports this difficult decision,
and is working to adjust our preparations and schedule a calendar
of events that properly readies our team for 2021.
At the same time, we are continuing to
support the USA Swimming community; our staff has been working with
coaches, local swim committees, and team leaders to provide support
in myriad ways as pools close, and local events are cancelled or
postponed. Many of our National Team athletes and coaches have lost
access to their training facilities and income streams, so we are
finding ways to support their preparation for future competitions.
And, we are proud to share that on March 20, 60 swim lesson
providers learned they are the recipients of USA Swimming
Foundation grant funding this year. This funding furthers our
efforts to support our swim lesson providers with offering
opportunities to children across the nation to become safer in, on,
and around the water.
Details are limited at this time, but as an
integral part of our family, please know that we will share updates
with you as decisions are made, and as we continue to come together
to support each other in these uncertain times. For the most

Thank you for your continued support of the
