Dear NPSC Members,
As all of you know, The COVID-19 situation that we are facing here in Washington has caused the state to update their response to the issue by updating their response with more limits with the objective of “flattening the curve”.
Monday night Governor Jay Inslee issued proclamation 20-05/20-25 “Stay Home-Stay Healthy”, also outlining additional requirements and expectations for businesses and people to adhere to.
In that proclamation, Governor Inslee mandated that all non-essential businesses shut down for two weeks. One of those non-essential businesses is our contractor for the pool remodel project, Mallet Construction. We received official notice yesterday that they would be shutting the project down until April 9th, at which time they intend to remobilize the project. This date is, however, tentative, as more restrictions could be issued as we get closer.
Prior to the Governor’s order, our project completion date was April 17th, and we were on schedule to meet that date. With the order, the project will be delayed at the minimum, two weeks. We will not know the true extent of the delay until Mallet remobilizes and all the subcontractor partners can get back onto the jobsite and create a plan for what is left to complete.
We have taken measures with our lender, Key Bank to secure our construction loan. That said, our club is still required to service the loan and requires all memberships to pay 2020 dues. Our ability to maintain our construction loan depends on our financial stability. Thank you to the many members that have already paid, we greatly appreciate your support. To any members who have yet to pay, we are still requesting dues to be received by April 1st, we will extend the due date to April 15th without late payment penalty as we understand the emotional stress of COVID-19. We are not able to provide membership refunds. If you are a member experiencing a financial hardship due to COVID-19, please contact our treasurer directly. Treasurer@normandyparksharks.com
As the situation moves along, we will keep you all informed of relevant information and the opening date of the pool just as soon as we know. If you have any questions about the construction or timeline, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you all for your support. We are all so excited for you all to see the exciting new pool building and all that it has to offer. Bring on the summer!
