BASH Swimmers & Families,
We can confirm that Y-USA has cancelled the YMCA Long Course National Championships, July 28-August 1, 2020 in Greensboro, North Carolina, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Y-USA has cancelled numerous National YMCA activities and events.
This does not mean that all of our BASH summer meets and our Y Leagues’ Long Course Championships must be cancelled. Such a decision would be made by the hosts of the meet in conjunction with the facility. As we navigate through these times, please understand that we will monitor and advise as situations arise, with safety as our top priority.
At this point, we all need to focus on adhering to social distancing and healthy standards to minimize the spread of the virus. This is the only way we can do our part to be allowed to safely return to the pool at the earliest possible time. Our hope would be to focus our entire team on the LC League Championships, July 9-12 at Miami University.
If there are additional events being sanctioned this summer, we will be creative and intentional in seeking out appropriate meets for swimmers of all ability levels.
We are looking at all possibilities for swim meets for our swimmers, but this pandemic is unprecedented. We will provide additional updates will as soon as information becomes available.
We can’t wait to see everyone back in the pool! We will re-start practices as soon as we are permitted to start.
Stay Safe and Healthy,
