Cyclone Swimmers & Families,
Hope you are safe and healthy! First of all, I would like to Thank all the swimmers and families for their patience as we all deal with this worldwide pandemic. The safety and health of each swimmer is the number one priority at this time.
Our coaching staff met last week to plan to connect with our membership in the most effective ways over the next few weeks. We understand everyone is managing new and different schedules right now. We will be looking to offer connection points for the athletes with their coaches and teammates, and structured/suggested workouts designed for the restrictions in our communities. Our facilities we use will be following county guidelines on when they are allowed to open and I am anticipating when they are available, there will be changes on how we will be conducting our practices and groups.
The major shift at this time for our coaching staff is that we are no longer looking to return to our existing plans for the summer, but we know that upon returning to the pool, we will be re-starting a new season and working around either previously scheduled or new competitions when those become available. We will work to communicate, as we know more. We have been in touch with other programs and the governing bodies of our sport to benchmark best practices and ensure we are remaining competitive as a program.
We hope the decision to pause our billing for the month of April was able to alleviate some financial concerns and give our families space to take care of their immediate needs at home. I felt it was important also for the swimmers to focus on transitioning from tradition school to distance learning.
We know coaching continuity is a key to the experience to our swimmers and we are committed to continue paying our staff through this time. While we anticipate a positive financial position for the club overall, there is still a great deal of uncertainty ahead and your support in paying a monthly fee will assist that. Therefore, we will resume billing on May 1. If our pools re-open we will charge the normal fee structure but if they are not available, we will be asking for single amount of $45.00 per swimmer per month until we can return to the pool. There will be a discount for families with multiple swimmers.
While we are out of water, the coaching staff will be setting up at least three dryland workouts per week either to be done virtually or in small groups of less than 10 at a designated area following CVC guidelines. We also plan on doing at least one Zoom group activity per week.
If any families have concerns, please let us know as early as possible and we will work on solutions with you.
