What High School do you attend?

Oxford High School

What College do you plan on attending and will you be swimming?

Yes,    I will be swimming and studying at the University of Illinois at Chicago

Do you have a career plan in mind?

I plan to obtain a Bachelor’s in Science of Nursing then pursue a master’s degree as a Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

What else do you like to do besides swim?

I like to go wake surfing, boating and hang out with friends and family.

Best piece of advice you can offer younger swimmers?

Work hard, have fun with your teammates, be a good sport, and always keep in mind the reason you love what you do.

What is your favorite LL Memory?

My favorite memory is laughing with my teammates at practice and winning the OAA blue league meet with my high school team.

What High School do you attend?

Clarkston High School

What College do you plan on attending and will you be swimming?

Yes, I will be swimming for the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay

Do you have a career plan in mind?

I plan to study Chiropractic and Spanish

What else do you like to do besides swim?

I love to hang out with friends on my lake and go swimming, wakeboarding, and wake surfing. My family means the world to me and has supported me through all my ups and downs so I also love to spend time with them. Lastly, my sister means the world to me because she has been to every swim meet even when she never wanted to go.

Best piece of advice you can offer younger swimmers?

Never give up on our goals. When you are having a hard time keep going and move forward. I have always had a goal to swim at a division 1 college and I never let anyone’s thoughts get to me. I kept pushing and eventually I got to swim for a division 1 school. 

What is your favorite LL Memory?

I haven’t been on LL for very long but I have already made so many memories. My favorite memory was at Eastern Michigan University when I was swimming the 200 Fly and everyone there was cheering me on at the end of my lane.

 

Caroline Alexander

What High School do you attend?

St. Thomas More Academy

What College do you plan on attending and will you be swimming?

This fall I will be attending Michigan State University, and I will be majoring in nursing. I will not be swimming.

Do you have a career plan in mind?

I plan to get a nursing degree from Michigan State and then work as a labor and delivery nurse.

What else do you like to do besides swim?

Besides swim, I love to bake, play the piano, play volleyball, and babysit.

Best piece of advice you can offer younger swimmers?

If you have worked hard and done your best, be proud of it!  Don’t be concerned with what the other swimmers are doing and focus on being the best swimmer you can be!

What is your favorite LL Memory?

My favorite swim memories are the time Claire Alexander and I sang Christmas songs for a whole practice during summer training and when Alina and I almost collided while doing underwater dolphin kicking and we were laughing so hard we had to skip the next two 25’s or any practice with “Lightning 2.0”

What College do you plan on attending and will you be swimming?

I plan on attending Michigan State University and I will not be swimming.

Do you have a career plan in mind?

I plan to study in marketing and creative advertising in college.

What else do you like to do besides swim?

I love to play video games and socialize with my friends outside of swim.

Best piece of advice you can offer younger swimmers?

Cherish the moments you have with your teammates.  You see them 6 out of the 7 days of the week, so make memories with them and have fun swimming as a team.

What is your favorite LL Memory?

My favorite LL memory was swimming at the 14 and under states after high school season.  I beat my best times and got 3 rd in the state. 

 

Emily Shores

What High School do you attend?

Stoney Creek

What College do you plan on attending and will you be swimming?

I have committed to swim Division 1 and study at Oakland University!

Do you have a career plan in mind?

I plan to study biomedical sciences and minor in Spanish.  I want to pursue the medical field, and become a Doctor one day.

What else do you like to do besides swim?

Outside of Swimming, I enjoy playing tennis, doing Pilates, and drawing.

Best piece of advice you can offer younger swimmers?

Work hard, and stay focused on your goals. And most importantly, remember to have fun! Swimming has given me lifelong friends, amazing memories, and new opportunities, which I'm so grateful for! 

What is your favorite LL Memory?

Achieving my junior national cut in the 100 breaststroke at sectionals last summer.

What College do you plan on attending and will you be swimming?

Yes,    I am swimming at Saginaw Valley State University

Do you have a career plan in mind?

I plan on studying Business Management.

What else do you like to do besides swim?

In my free time I like to hang out with friends, go out to eat and go to the beach.

Best piece of advice you can offer younger swimmers?

Remember to have fun and focus on swimming at the same time, swimming can be mentally tough but it's not worth it if you're not having fun.

What is your favorite LL Memory?

My favorite memory is meeting lifelong friends and traveling to state and sectional meets.

 

Lauren Sielicki

What High School do you attend?

Marian High School in Bloomfield Hills

What College do you plan on attending and will you be swimming?

I signed to swim at Boston College

Do you have a career plan in mind?

I am studying nursing in hopes of becoming a Nurse Anesthetist.

What else do you like to do besides swim?

In my free time I like to hang out with my friends, watch Grey’s Anatomy, and I like to try new restaurants.

Best piece of advice you can offer younger swimmers?

My advice is to be positive and have fun.  Even when things don’t go your way, think of the end game.  Keep raising your goals, swimming fast is fun!  The sport of swimming will bring you some of your best friends who keep you smiling through the tough times. 

What is your favorite LL Memory?

My favorite memory is meeting/swimming against all of the Olympians at the 2018 TYR Pro Series in Columbus Ohio.

 

Elizabeth Stacey

What High School do you attend?

Notre Dame Preparatory

What College do you plan on attending and will you be swimming?

Yes, I am so excited to be swimming for the Hillsdale Chargers next year

Do you have a career plan in mind?

I plan on becoming a doctor. I am not sure yet what I would like to specialize in.

What else do you like to do besides swim?

I love reading, going on long car rides with my friends, and taking my little sisters on adventures.

Best piece of advice you can offer younger swimmers?

Make friends with people who are out of your league and try to catch up. Particularly in the world of swimming it is most productive to surround yourself with people who force you to work harder and reach farther. It also serves as a good dose of humility.

What is your favorite LL Memory?

Dancing with friends in the locker room after a snow day had just been announced for the following school day.  We were all so tired from practice but thrilled to get out of school for the next day.
