Help Us Become a Safe Sport Recognized Club:

In addition to below, achieving Safesport recognition will give us higher priority in grant considerations.

PST is committed to creating an abuse-free, safe, healthy, and positive environment for all of our members. An important feature of this program is that our swimmers (age 12 and older) and parents complete Safe Sport Training for Swimmers and Parents, respectively. The training is about 20 minutes, well done and broadly applicable, even outside of the swimming environment. You can complete the training as a USA Swimming member or nonmember:

Thank you for participating,

***New: Coaches Updates:

Each week one of our coaches will share their SIP experience.

From Coach Colby:

“During the SIP I have been trying to stay as busy as possible throughout. I have been creating 2 Green/Blue lessons and 2 Bronze/Silver lessons per week as well as 2 live zoom meetings with the kids where we play games on top of some small lessons. My zoom meetings have been designed around bringing PST friends together and keeping as much of a sense of PST community as possible. My digital lessons have all been really technical breakdowns of as many skills as possible. My hope with the digital lessons is that we can cut down teaching on land and really focus on applying these various skills in the pool.

On top of the lessons I have been doing with PST I have also been creating a weekly lesson plan for the PHS swim team and running multiple zoom meetings to again build a community that loves swimming as much as I do. This was going to be a really exciting season as we became the largest team at PHS tied only with the track team. When I first started with PHS in 2015 we had about 30 kids and only had 10 boys on the team. We are now up to 72 kids and have 32 boys and 40 girls all with only 2 coaches.

While in quarantine besides the work I have been doing for the swim teams, I have been spending a lot of time building Yu-Gi-Oh decks for the eventual return to tournament play and continuing my weekly tradition of Catan with friends online. As well I have been playing a lot of video games. At this point I have completed Legend of Zelda: Breath of the WIld, A Link to the Past, Kingdom Hearts 3, Borderlands 3, and am currently working on Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor.

I personally am trying to be really good about the SIP order for my parents, both are exceptionally high risk, my mom has been in remission for multiple myeloma for the last 8 years and my dad has been dealing with multiple minor cases of skin cancer and just had a successful Mohs surgery. Fortunately they are both staying active. My dad has been building a travel box for his 1936 Harley-Davidson border track bike and my mom has been designing and creating a quarantine quilt and spending time putting together vintage puzzles.

I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe. Can't wait until we get back to action.

Coach Colby Price
