UPDATE: Re-Opening of PVPUSD Pools

TOPIC:  Re-Opening of the PVPUSD High School Pools

The Palos Verdes Aquatic Club has been in weekly contact with the PVPUSD Facilities Use Department since the school closure on March 12th.  With daily/weekly reports from the City of Los Angeles, the County of Los Angeles, LA County Office of Education - there has not been a decision made by the PVPUSD regarding the re-opening of gyms, pools and classrooms, etc.  Student/Faculty/Staff and Parent health & safety is #1.

Until we receive notification and procedures & directives from the PVPUSD, the pools remain closed.  As soon as we are able to return to the pool - we will let you know.  We apologize for not remaining in contact during this closure.  Our coaches remain committed to returning to the swim team.  We understand that dryland exercises can only take you so far.  We hope that you've been able to enjoy some long walks on open trails and beaches.  With warmer weather - you could do some ocean swimming now.

On the good news front:  Coach Mike & his wife, Veronica welcomed their son, Ryan James Camp on Sunday, June 14th.  He arrived about a month early and weighed in at 6 lbs. 5.6ozs.  He looks like he might be a future backstroker.
