Tennis Lessons

We are excited to say that we are going to start group tennis lessons and youth tennis team on June 29th now that King County is officially in Phase 2.  Our first priority is the health and safety of our community, thus tennis lessons and tennis team will be looking a little different this year.  We will be following social distancing protocols on the tennis courts and there will be a ten-minute break between each class. Tennis coaches will be wearing masks and sanitizing hands frequently. They will make sure that there is a maximum of 5 students per court and that all students and coaches are a minimum of six feet apart at all times. Lastly, coaches will be the only people who will touch the tennis balls with their hands.

If you are interested in signing up your child for tennis lessons or tennis team, then please sign up your child at the Aqua Club Office during regular business hours. Please make sure that each athlete in your family has signed a general liability waiver and a Covid waiver prior to signing up for any lessons or team.

Aqua Club Tennis Lesson Covid-19 Procedures

1. Children who are sick or feel ill must stay home.

2. Sign up and pay for the class at the lifeguard stand with a check.

3Fill out a general liability release waiver and Covid waiver for each athlete.  Aqua Club must have both forms for each athlete prior to participation in tennis lessons or tennis team.

4. Students should not arrive early for class. If driving to the club, students must wait in car until class begins. If walking, students must not arrive to class early.

5. Students are expected to wear a personal mask when off court on club premises for the safety of other club members and our staff. When playing tennis, wearing a mask is optional.

6. Spectators are not allowed at all during Phase 2, so only students that can be on the court without parents, guardians, nannies, or babysitters can sign up. During Phase 2, only classes for students ages 7 and up will be offered. During Phase 3, classes for ages 5 and 6 may be added to the offerings.

7. Students will need to bring their own equipment. Tennis racquet, tennis shoes (no flip-flops or bare feet), full water bottle, and facemask. The club will provide the tennis balls, but only the coaches will touch the tennis balls.

8. Each student will have a designated location to place items that they do not need during the lesson.

9. Students will practice social distancing by maintaining a minimum of 6-foot distance between other players on and off courts. Students will not sit on the bleachers and will leave the courts immediately at the end of class.

10. Students will clean their hands with hand sanitizer at the end of class.
