MT Governor Issues Order Requiring Face Masks to be Worn effective July 15

Montana's governor issued an order requiring face masks or face coverings to be worn effective July 15 in any county with 4 or more active COVID-19 cases and strongly encouraged people to wear face masks or face coverings in counties with 3 or less active cases.

The order applies to certain indoor business settings that are open to the public and outdoor gatherings with 50 or more people when distancing is not possible.

Businesses must post signs that masks are required for those ages 5 and up, and it applies to employees and customers. They will not be required when consuming food or drinks in establishments that offers them for sale.

The order does require people to wear face masks at pools but not while swimming.

The order came as Montana set another single day record for number of cases on July 15.
