Team Email - Hot Spot Updates

Updated Travel Guidelines & Quarantine Restrictions

Starting July 24th, Cook County has expanded the travel restrictions to include the suburbs.

CLICK HERE for that press release.

In conjunction with the school & county protocol - any athlete traveling to the hot spot states, which are the same as the City of Chicago & evaluated every Tuesday, will need to self-quarantine for 14 days and will not be allowed at in-person workouts.
This also is expanded nationally to included any international travel - including Mexico & Canada.

In the event a family member becomes sick, please notify the staff  immediately and please self-quarantine for 14 days as well as try to get testing done.
CLICK HERE for our initial protocol in the event of team exposure. Share this information with your athlete, so that they understand how their personal interactions and choices might affect the team.

Physicians Immeadiate Care does not require symptoms to test (as of today) and has the Rapid Result Tests and the longer response tests available, however you must arrive early to get a test and you may need to wait awhile.

Workouts may be  cancelled and facilities may be closed depending on the level of contact and exposure, but we need to do our part for our community to stay safe!

Please notify your coaching staff in the event of travel to a hot-spot state, even if it means you're out of in-person programming for 14 days. We need to do our part and being honest with our travel and the subsequent consequences of travel are part of that community responsibility to ensure our team & community is safe.  Athletes are encouraged to attend the online programming during their quarantine.

Remind your athlete that they must stay masked, stay 6ft from people and wash hands.
We strongly recommend getting a number of re-useable fabric masks (one per day) that can be re-used, sanitized and kept clean. We have a number of athletes who are showing up at workouts with old or broken masks that will provide little to no protection. Etsy & Amazon both have multiple options for quality masks that cover nose, mouth and chin.

FAQs on Hot Spots

What happens if I am traveling and my state gets added to the hot spot list while I am gone?
If your state is added to the list while you are gone, or if you are currently traveling and are in a hot spot state - unfortunately, you will need to self-quarantine for 14 days so that we can comply with county and local guidelines. If you are currently traveling and are in a hot spot state this weekend (July 24-26), you will need to quarantine for 14 days. Please let the coaching staff know. Online programming will still be available.

What happens if I am traveling and my state gets removed from the list while I am gone?
We will ask that you stay with a 72-hour self-quarantine, just to be on the safe side.

What if I promise to just stay with my family or in our personal housing?
Unfortunately, the travel guidelines do not allow for this distinction and therefore neither can we, if we are to stay in compliance. Athletes will need to comply with a 14-day quarantine.

What if I have a negative rapid test upon my return?
This virus has a potential incubation period of 14-days and therefore, an athlete can test negative upon return but can become positive up to 14 days after exposure. Athletes will need to stay out of in-person programming for 14 days from date of return.

What if one of my family members tests positive during the quarantine, but the athlete stays separate from them?
Unfortunately, the athlete must continue to stay quarantined from 14 days from the positive test of the family member and we will evaluate the situation on a case by case basis as well as consult with local medical practitioners.

Also got a few questions about a comfortable mask - I have a few from this company (Hyperfavor) that makes really comfy masks with filter pockets. CLICK HERE - they have 1000s of designs for literally every interest/profession - you might have to scroll a bit as the search engine is a little awkward.
They deliver in about 7-10 days.  I have asthma and weak lungs and these don't affect my oxygen intake at all and are comfy enough to wear for 8 hours at a time and light enough for outside wear.  You can order 2.5 filters online at Amazon for relatively low bulk cost.
