Dear North Texas Swimming,
We are a community, and each swim parent, athlete, coach, official, and club must conduct themselves in a manner representing good conduct, especially in regards to COVID-19 safeguards. What one entity does affects the entire community, therefore, we must ensure that all swim meets strictly follow and enforce all USA Swimming, North Texas Swimming, and local and state COVID-19 safety and social distancing protocols.
Having said this the NTSi Board of Directors met last night to discuss August sanctions and determine if any stipulations should be in place for return to competition. After much discussion, the NTSi Board of Directors voted to allow August Sanctions with the following stipulations:
1. For the month of August, subject to the guidance and limitations of State and local governmental and health authorities, and provisions set forth by USA Swimming, North Texas Swimming inc. will allow sanctioning of Intra-squad, Dual and multi-location virtual meets with each session limited to no more than 80 swimmers. For the month of August, NTSi Board of Directors reserves the rights to revoke approved sanctions should there be deterioration of the health and safety concerns in North Texas counties.
2. For the month of August, no Relays will be allowed in any sanctioned meets.
USA Swimming has provided Return to Competition Protocols ( click here) and LSC Sanction Requirements ( click here). The new North Texas Sanctioning Template is available on the North Texas Swimming website under News and Meet Ops. Per the NTSi BOD decision as of June 2020, sanctions and all paperwork must be in 14 days prior to the start of the meet.
Thank you for all you do to serve our North Texas athletes! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
