July 29, 2020
USA Swimming recognizes that there are many areas of the country where it is nearly impossible to renew Lifeguard, CPR and In Water Skills certifications. Anyone who has one of these certifications expiring between July 31, 2020 and December 31, 2020 has had the expiration date extended to December 31, 2020. All other certifications must be up to date. Some instructors have been able to hold classes in outdoor facilities. If you are able to renew your certifications, please do so and send the new certificates to the office at firstname.lastname@example.org . If your certification has expired or is expiring during this period and it is through the American Red Cross, you will need to take the 120 day Extension course that the Red Cross is offering online. The course is free. Once completed, the certificate from that course needs to be sent to the office at email@example.com.
If your certifications expired prior to March 1, 2020 there will be no extension granted.
