Fall Workout Schedule and Workout Reservations
 

 

Monday-Friday          
5:00- 6:00 AM – Dive Well
6:10-7:10 AM – Dive Well
9:00-10:15 AM – 11:45-1:00 PM - 50M   
1:50- 2:50 PM – 50M


Saturday                 
5:00-5:50 AM – 50M    
6:00-7:00 AM – Dive Well
6:00-7:00 PM – 50M    

Sunday         
6:00-6:50 AM – Dive Well
7:00-7:50 AM – Dive Well

 

I believe we have a few swimmers signing up for more than 2 workouts.  REMEMBER:


If you want a 3rd or 4th workout IT MUST be signed up the day before after 5:00pm.

 

Masters Workout Reservation Procedures and Schedule  

Workout sign-ups are located on the events section on the Nadadores Age Group Site at:

https://www.teamunify.com/team/scmvn/page/events#/team-events/upcoming  

 

1.      Monday-Thursday workouts  will be available every Saturday after 7:00pm.

2.      Friday-Sunday workouts  will be available every Wednesday after 7:00 pm.

 

1.     You may select only two workout times during each period.

2.     You may select more workouts later once the daily deadline has passed for members to sign up.

3.     The deadline is the day before at 5:00pm.  For example, I am already signed up for Monday and Tuesday.  If I want to swim on Wednesday, I will go check the list for Wednesday on Tuesday after 5:00pm.  If there are open lanes, then I can sign up.

4.     If you signed up to swim and cannot attend please remove it ASAP so others may swim.

Keep up the great racing – it’s just like workout.  If you have not yet raced, please try at least one event during the workout.  Cannot dive -start in the water.

Newport Beach OW Swim

 

There will be a group of swimmers swimming the pier to pier this Sunday.  Choices are 1 or 2 mile swims. 

If you swim it will count for the virtual championships and the check off challenge.

Meet at the Balboa Pier parking lot around 7:30-7:45am. Swim will begin around 8:00am

FREESTYLE TIPS

 

1.  STREAMLINES

--off the walls, 5-7m distance (3-4 dolphin kicks)

 

2 .  0/2 BREAKOUT BREATHING

“0” is the amount of breaths you take on your last cycle going into the turn.

 

“2” is the number of strokes you take before you breath on your breakout


3.  TEMPO

--Build tempo as you approach the wall for a turn

 

4.  BI-LATERAL BREATHING

is simply breathing  to both sides while swimming  freestyle. A common pattern associated with bilateral breathing  is to take a breath  every three strokes. In this case, you would first take a breath  to your left, then keep your head down for two strokes before taking a breath  to your right.
