September Registration

2020 September Registration Information FAQ’s
USSC Families, “Crazy” does not even begin to describe what these last months have been for all of us.  We have all had to make adjustments from our normal routines, and swimming is no different.  As many of you know, as of today, indoor pools are still not open.  We are thankful that Heart of the Hills has extended the opportunity for us to train August 3 – October 3rd at their facility.  HH, like many outdoor clubs, is a 6-lane outdoor pool.  With social distancing safety measures, this means that we have had to make MAJOR adjustments to the practice schedule and roster sizes, in order to keep everyone as safe as possible during this period of time.  Our athlete’s health and safety, is our number one priority.  All of that said, here is the information everyone has been waiting for:

TUESDAY (8/25): Athletes who registered for USSC’s August session may register.
THURSDAY (8/27): Athletes who swam with us during SC 2019-2020 may register.
The Registration page will say “anyone” can register at any point, but please follow the above, so registration can go as smoothly as possible.

It is very important for families to register in a timely manner.

Practice Schedule:
The full practice schedule has been loaded into Google Calendar and can be viewed on USSC’s website.
All practices will take place at Heart of the Hills (995 Old Perch Rd, Rochester, MI).

SENIOR athletes (SRD, SRC, SRP):
We do not know when the Girl’s HS swimmers will begin their seasons at their respective high school pools, we have been told an announcement was coming now for months, and we are still waiting.  Because we have more Senior swimmers who are interested in swimming than we have spots for at this point in time, we have opened up a MORNING Practice option 6-7:30am for all SENIOR athletes (SRD, SRC, SRP), in order to accommodate all athletes.  Rochester-area Senior swimmers, please consider this option, as the report time for virtual school in September is 8:30am.

As communicated through the club survey (8/17-8/21), fees are higher than our normal monthly fees due to social distancing measures, smaller roster sizes, and significantly higher pool rent.  For all athletes who swam with us in 2019-2020, there will not be an additional “registration fee” for this period of time.  Every athlete’s USA Swimming membership for 2020 is good through the end of 2020.  When we know more about returning to school, returning to indoor pools, registration fees for 2020-2021 will be communicated accordingly.  Right now we are planning for September, and then moving forward based on the information we receive.

Please note the Senior group pricing reflects 5 weeks of practice, while the 12 & Under program reflects 4 weeks of practice:
