LABOR DAY PRACTICES:  If your swimmer normally swims on Mondays, we will be shifting their practice to the morning on the holiday (9/7.) 

  • XG V/S/Prep- no practice (those who normally swim M-Th 3-4 or 4-5pm)

  • XG Combo- 8-9am (those who normally swim MW 2-3pm)

  • XG Gold- 9-10am

  • XG Prep 1- 10-11am (those who normally swim MW 6:45-7:45pm)

  • XG Race Team- 11-11:45am (those who normally swim MW 5-5:45pm)

  • Pine Senior/Varsity- 7-8am

  • Pine JV/JV+ 8-9am

TEAM PINS: For all those that were on last year’s team, don’t forget to pick up a commemorative team pin from the pool attendant when you check in.  

SWIM CAPS: Race Team swimmers- if you haven’t picked up your blue or yellow cap from the pool attendant last week, be sure to get one.  Here is a tutorial on how to put on your own cap (and for parents to write the name on the front and back of the cap.)

EQUIPMENT: Please be sure your swimmers are prepared for practice with the appropriate equipment. If you haven’t ordered, consider ordering from www.swimoutlet.com/swimsouthbay as our team gets credit for the purchases.

  • Race Team: kickboard, buoy, fins

  • Gold/JV/JV+/Prep: kickboard, buoy, fins, optional paddles

  • Varsity/Senior: kickboard, buoy, paddles, fins, optional snorkel

ADDITIONAL POOL TIME:  Looking for a bit more pool time for your swimmer?  We have additional lap swim time at Pinehurst on weekdays and weekends.  The Sunday clinics  at Crossgates are led by Coach Marisa and focus on specific details from week to week. Lap swim and clinics are offered for all levels!  

We also have private lessons held at Crossgates and at Coach Marisa’s Endless Pool.  Learn more about both types of lessons on the “ Swim Lessons” button on the team website.  Endless Pool instruction is also available by appointment (in case you don’t see a lesson that works with your schedule.  Many are starting to book for the Fall break week.)  

ZOOM ON DECK: Since we must limit the number of people on deck during practices and lap swim, we encourage you to watch practice on Zoom. To observe practice from your mobile device, please log into  www.zoom.us:

SAFETY WAIVERS: Thank you for filling these out.  If you received a reminder from me over the weekend, we still need your waiver. Please complete this form and email back (or print and bring to the pool.)   

VARSITY/SENIOR/PREP ENDLESS POOL SESSIONS: For those in the V/S/P group at Pinehurst, 3pm or 4pm V/S/P groups at Crossgates, please be sure to bookmark this link to book your weekly endless pool sessions.  We are having fun, making breakthroughs and finding new ways to motivate you!

  • If they have a temperature OR any symptoms, do not send them to the pool and immediately email office@swimsouthbay.org

  • If any swimmer, family member or coach comes in contact with a person who tests positive for Covid-19 or becomes ill themselves, it is imperative that you contact me immediately, so we can begin the contact tracing protocol.
