Fall/Winter Indoor Season Is A Go

GCSTO Makes Plans For 20/21 Indoor Season

GCSTO has received the positive nod from the Columbus Academy to use the pool this season. MUCH now must be worked out in terms of logistics to set up a working schedule for the team. We have also received confirmation from Power In Motion (north end of Hamilton Road in New Albany) to run our dryland "Swim Gym" sessions out of their facility this season. We are currently configuring that facility with the need TV's, mirrors and audio equipment to run these (on-site and virtual attended) sessions each week. We are waiting to hear about St. Charles for the season as we sit with them shortly to discuss this potential.

Swimmers who have not been with us this past season who are interested in joining GCSTO for this upcoming season are asked to send the following information to coach Nye at stevenye@sbcglobal.net:

1 - Swimmer's name and age

2 - Swimmer's past swimming background information (former team if any, how many times per week they trained last year, how long each practice was, and the athlete's times if available)

3 - Parent's names and telephone contact numbers (and any alternate emails you'd want us to use for contacts)

We cannot yet even begin to address all of the questions that you all might have so we're asking a huge favor in terms of limiting questions sent to Steve Nye with your interest in the team, only, so that we may concentrate of working through all of the logistics with Academy and finalizing the schedule and pricing information.

Even if we cannot fit all new swimmers into the pool with us they WILL be allowed to join our Swim Gym practices in which we literally run swimming practices on dryland focusing in on everything from start, turn & finish technique to stroke technique, breathing patterns, race strategy and more with athletes receiving actual coaching whether their attendance is virtual or on-site.

NOTE: We will not start our indoor season until at least Monday, October 5 as we finish at our outdoor pools on Sept. 27 and then are taking a one week break.

More understandable at times like this than ever before!
