As you know, due to COVID restrictions and pool limitations, our practice schedule began with
reduced hours, and we have been working diligently and collaboratively with the YMCA
programming staff to increase opportunities as best as possible. We appreciate your patience
and loyalty to our team, and our YMCA, and we value your continued investment as we move
forward.


coolYou will find above the new practice schedule,beginning October 5th, for each of the groups.
There are a few things of note that are much different than in previous years, yet crucial for us
to be able to maximize our allotted time. You will remain in your currently assigned groups
unless notified directly by coaches.

enlightened First, if you see a highlighted time with ***positive check-in*** on your schedule, what
that means is that you MUST let register on event page that you will be attending that
practice, or your spot will be forfeited and given to another swimmer for that day.

  • If you are in Senior Group 2, you must use the check-in system to declare your attendance on Thursdays. If you do not, those spots will be opened for members of Senior Group 1.
  • For Advanced and Presenior groups, we are using positive check-in to assure we do not exceed the maximum number allowed in the pool. If we regularly meet that maximum we might have to go to an alternating system, but we will need a few weeks to work out the possibilities. You will receive a separate email that explains how the electronic positive check-in will work, although, know you will be required to check in several days prior to the scheduled practice. Please confirm on Event Page for your assigned practice.

smiley Next, we encourage you to attend every possible practice opportunity to maximize
performance. We realize that we have dual sport athletes, and encourage that
However, if you know you will not be attending practices until a certain date, or attending
only certain days of the week, please let the coaches know as soon as possible so we
may open up those spots to other SPY members until your return. You might have
already done this, but we ask that you do so again, as some circumstances may have
changed or evolved.

yesWe would like you to attend as often as possible! We realize that with busy schedules and
limited pool time every practice available might not be a realistic goal for your family, however
we are asking you to do your best to be there as often as possible within your allotted times.
We know all of this is much different than what we are used to, but with maximum effort,
focused attention, and positive attitudes we think we can excel as we always have, rise to the
challenge, and achieve personal & team victories!
