NTSI HOD Motions Passed by BOD

Dear North Texas Swimming Coaches, Officials, Parents, and Athletes,

A North Texas Swimming Board of Directors meeting was held on September 23. One of the major items we discussed was October swim meets and sanctioning.  After much discussion surrounding the concept of ‘crawl, walk, run’ and ensuring the safety of all athletes and members, the following motions were PASSED for October:

Motion 1)

Effective November 1, 2020, all applications for sanctioning of meets beginning January 1, 2021, must follow policies and procedures and adhere to the 60 day policy for submissions for sanction. The current fines and fees for missing the deadline and re-sanctioning as stipulated in the policies & procedures shall be in force.

Motion 2)

Effective October 1, 2020 until any further change, subject to the guidance and limitations of State and local governmental and health authorities, and provisions set forth by USA Swimming, North Texas Swimming inc. will allow sanctioning of meets with each session at a single location no more than 100 swimmers. The maximum number of swimmers can be increased to 180 for pools that have 16 or more lanes and with adequate pool deck space to accommodate proper social distancing.

Exceptions can be considered by the NTSi Board of Directors.

Motion 3)

Effective October 1, 2020 NTSi will follow the USA Swimming guidelines in the minimum number of officials required for Intrasquad and Dual meets.

Please help us in demonstrating that SWIMMING is a SAFE sport and that ALL TEAMS do follow COVID guidelines through the entirety of swim meets and practices.  We want to continue moving forward, not backwards, in our return to competition.
Thank you for doing your part to keep SWIMMING a COVID safe sport.
