2020-21 TENTATIVE MEET SCHEDULE
2020-21 TENTATIVE MEET SCHEDULE

To All MAKO Families,

This season has been and will continue to be all about flexibility, making adjustments and, of course, safety.  As our MAKO Swimming club has navigated the new challenges of practicing at our home pool of GMU, TSJ and CCF, we have also been working on the best approach to get our swimmers back racing.

Potomac Valley Swimming (PVS), under the direction of USA Swimming, has created a path forward related to meets and competition.  We have worked closely with the governing body at PVS and have several meets scheduled for this 2020-21 season.  Please note that these meets will be different then in past seasons for obvious reasons.  We will continue to make adjustments to the format and focus of these meets, as needed and directed, throughout.  Our goal is to make opportunities available to as many swimmers as possible, within the guidelines.  Swim groups eligible to participate may be found on the event page for each meet on our website.  As additional meet opportunities become available, we will adjust the schedule accordingly.

  • Face coverings required
  • Fitness and Exercise establishments open at 75% capacity
  • Indoor and outdoor swimming pools may be open at up to 75% occupancy, if applicable, provided ten feet of physical distance may be maintained between patrons not of the same household
  • The total number of attendees (including both participants and spectators) of recreational sports cannot exceed the lesser of 50% of the occupancy load on the certificate of occupancy, if applicable, or 250 persons
  • 10’ spacing on pool deck and spectator area between persons who are not members of the same household should be maintained
  • Health screening prior to entry
We look forward to getting all our MAKO swimmers back racing and appreciate your patience and support.  As guidelines change, we will adjust.
