This has been an incredible year. Some swimmers began swimming this season swimming at the Sumerset outdoor pool. Other swimmers decided to wait until the approval was given for the season to continue and indoor pools were permitted to open. Any way I view the results of tonights meet, I could not have been more proud in the manor in which our team competed this evening.
This season may not have an actual County Meet (this meet will be a virtual meet based on Division Meet Results) or a MISCA meet, but I still want the swimmers on focusing on challenging themselves to qualify for not only these two meets, but also the Division 1 State Meet.
The results of tonight's meet shows that the Lady Crusaders are focusing on these goals. Lauren Paris would have qualified for MISCA in the 100 free and the team of Lauren Paris, Emma Bauer, AnnDee Geddes & Brianne Lowe would also have qualified the 400 Free Relay.
The following swimmers qualified for the virtual Macomb County Meet: Lauren Paris, Makayla Owensby, Olivia Perfili, Emma Bauer, AnnDee Geddes, Samantha Tauriainen, Brianne Lowe, Sara Bauer, MacKenzie Owensby & Emilia Ridderikhoff. The requirement for diving is the diver needs to have a two meet average above 120 points.
The following swimmers attained their life-time personal best times this evening: 200 IM - AnnDee Geddes & Samantha Tauriainen, 50 Free - Jenna Loyal & Ali Holk, 1 Meter Diving - Aubrie Kulik, Abby Mette & Brianna Turpin, 100 Fly - Emma Bauer & AnnDee Geddes, 100 Free - Emilia Ridderikhoff & Chloe Anderson, 500 Free - Ali Holk, & 100 Back - Chloe Anderson.
The team is running out of season quick and it is extremely important that every swimmer is at every practice working their hardest to prepare for the Division Meet that is less than a month away. Our next meet is against Chippewa Valley at Chippewa Valley. Bus time is 4:15 and all swimmers should be at the LCN pool lobby by 4:00 to take the bus to Chippewa. I am not sure at this time if any spectators will be permitted at this meet, but we are trying to stream the meet on the LCN Facebook page.
