There are no anticipated practice changes for the next week at this time.

WEEKEND PRACTICE SIGN-UPS

Thank you, Competitive Program families, for your cooperation in signing up for weekend practices.  These sign-ups allow families to have flexibility on the weekends on a week-by-week basis, while still making sure that each practice is within the state's regulations for number of swimmers per lane.

Please remember that while some groups may not fill up on either day, the coaching staff would still like families to sign up their swimmers for their location's Senior, Junior, or Mini practice to get in the habit in the event that a group gets bigger later on in the season.

KYFW Program groups do not have sign-up pages because as weekend-only groups to start the season, all weekend practices are open to swimmers by default.

ONLINE TEAM STORE

The team store is being updated by the administrative staff.  More information will be sent out once the team store is finalized.

MEET OFFICIALS

Delaware Swim Team is always in need of officials for meets.  While this year is obviously different than other years, training and certification for officials is still taking place.  There are several types of people who should consider becoming an official:

~ If you were a former swimmer and/or have a good understanding of the legality of each stroke
~ If you have done officiating for a summer swim league or other organization
~ If you have a young swimmer and know that your child(ren) will be swimming for several years in the future
~ If you have gotten tired of being a timer or other volunteer and would like to contribute more to the competitive environment that is provided to your swimmer and to all of the swimmers

Delaware Swim Team would reimburse the USA Swimming non-athlete fee for parents who become officials, and possibly provide further reimbursement, under certain conditions.

If you are interested in becoming an official, email Coach Matt at matthewa@delawareswimteam.com for more information.

TECH SUIT BAN

USA Swimming's tech suit ban for all 12 & unders went into effect on September 1.  USA Swimming has put together lists of tech suits that are banned and tech suits that are allowed for competition.

MIDDLE ATLANTIC TRANSFER FORMS

If your swimmer switched over this year to Delaware Swim Team from another USA Swimming team, you will need to fill out a transfer form for your swimmer.  The transfer form is available here.  When filling out the form, please make sure to include the team that your swimmer was last registered through USA Swimming with, and the team's club code.  For the team that your swimmer is transferring to, the club is Delaware Swim Team, and the club code is DST.

When you have filled out the form, please either drop it off at the Pike Creek office, or email a digital copy to office@delawareswimteam.com.

There is a transfer fee of $10 for swimmers transferring from one Middle Atlantic club to another Middle Atlantic club.  There is no transfer fee for swimmers coming from another LSC besides Middle Atlantic.

Swimmers returning to Delaware Swim Team from last winter obviously do not need to fill out a transfer form.  Swimmers who are returning from longer ago but never were on another USA Swimming team do not need to fill out a transfer form.  Swimmers who first joined Delaware Swim Team over the summer also need to fill out a transfer form.

METHODS OF COMMUNICATION

While email is the primary method of communication, the coaching staff may use other methods of communication available through the Team Unify system, if necessary for emergencies or messages that are urgent.  Besides emails, Team Unify offers communication via text and via push notifications.  In order to get push notifications, you must have the OnDeck app and enable push notifications.  Your regular login information is our login information for the app.  In order to receive texts through the OnDeck app, you must have a cellphone number in the SMS field in your account.  Adding a cellphone number to the cellphone field will not allow for notifications via text; only the SMS fields will allow for that.  You can add your cellphone number to the SMS field by going to the team website and to My Account>My Account>gray "Account" tab.

Thanks,
The Delaware Swim Team coaching staff
