Hello EMAC Families,
Week of Monday October 12th. There is practice on Columbus Day.
Practice at EMAC will be in Green, practice at Rodale will be in Blue
If your swimmer is scheduled to practice at Rodale Aquatic Center, located at Cedar Crest College. Please fil out the two forms here and bring with you on the first day of practice. If your swimmer does not have a form on file they will not be permitted to swim.
Also, please watch the video attached here before attending your first practice. Coach Fisher from PSC put together a quick introduction for our swimmers to show where to park, how to enter, and where to put your equipment as you filter into the building.

The last week we spent a lot of time working on backstroke rotation, body alignment, kick, and underwater discipline. We kept refreshers in for our freestyle and butterfly kick, though held off on breast stroke. On Sunday, our Casino Royale event challenged our swimmers to holding their wall discipline as best they could, while also increasing their backstroke speed through additional rounds. Overall our 13-14s performed well at this event.
This week we begin our transition into the new schedule, including practices at Rodale. On Wednesday our Green group will get start certified, while our Gold group will go through start certification on Friday. Please plan on having your swimmer in attendance as start certification is required to use the blocks in meets. This is important as we are working on getting a meet on our schedule for mid November.
- Warm clothes need to be worn to practice or they have it for when practice is over. T-shirts and shorts are not keeping the swimmers warm. Please make sure your swimmer has at least a sweatshirt and sweatpants on before leaving the house for practice.
- Swimmers will be waiting outside at Rodale until their practice starts. Swimmers need to be dressed appropriately.
- Be prepared for some of our younger ones to get out early on Wednesdays, especially as the temperature drops more. 30-45 minutes is showing to be the threshold for our colder swimmers. Please be at the pool 15 minutes earlier than scheduled end time if your swimmer informs you they are starting to get cold.
See you at the pool!
