The Lady Crusaders traveled to Chippewa Valley tonight to compete in the team's second dual meet of the season. The Lady Crusaders dominated the Big Reds and before the score was announced, I asked those keeping score to exhibition all of our swimmers for events 9-12 and the announced score was 105-92. The actual score of the meet was 145 - 64. This was a very impressive score, because many swimmers tonight swam events that they would not normally swim.
The team swam phenomenally tonight considering the circumstances. The swimmers were not permitted the opportunity to properly recover after every race. This does affect how the muscles will respond in following races.
The team was able to add two more swimmers/divers to the list of swimmers that will be considered for the Macomb County Championship. Aubrie Kulik and and Abby Mette have both qualified in 1 meter diving and Jenna Loyal qualified in the 100 Backstroke. This brings the total number of athletes qualified to 13. There are several other swimmers that have the potential to qualify.
The following swimmers posted lifetime best times this evening in the following events:200 Free - Emma Bauer & Ali Holk, 200 IM - Emilia Ridderikoff, 1 Meter Diving - Aubrie Kulik, Madison Lum & Brianna Turpin, 100 Fly - Samantha Tauriainen, 100 Free - Jenna Loyal, 500 Free - Lauren Paris, Paige Kloka & Chloe Anderson, 100 Backstroke - Samantha Tauriainen & Jenna Loyal & 100 Breaststroke - Ali Holk.
The team's next meet is against Anchor Bay. This meet will decide who will win the Dual Meet Championship. I do not have any information about this meet at this point in time.
The key right now for the swimmers to become successful is they need to eat healthy and not share drinks with any person (teammate or not). They also need to stay focused on the clock at practice and continuously to working at improving their technique.
ON THE EVEN BETTER NEWS.... I am hoping to have the LCN pool open tomorrow. The filters and leaks have been fixed! I am just waiting for the inspector from Macomb County to approve the inspection. Hopefully the pool will be open tomorrow.
