Emma Schueler of UASC Commits to Miami (Ohio)

UASC has its third college commitment among our high school (Golden Bear group) seniors for 2020.

Emma Schueler has committed to swim at Miami (Ohio) University next year.

She told Swimming World:

“I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to Miami University to continue my academic and athletic career. I am very appreciative for my family, coaches, and friends who have helped guide and support me throughout this journey. A huge thanks to the coaching staff at Miami for believing in me and providing me with this amazing opportunity. I can’t wait for the next 4 years with this outstanding program, go Redhawks! #LoveandHonor”

Schueler, who trains year-round with Upper Arlington Swim Club, most recently earned three best times at the MAKO Senior Circuit in February after grabbing silver in the 50 free at December’s Ned Reeb Invitational. In summer 2019, she notched four PBs at Ohio LCM Seniors where her highest finish was a 16th-place showing in the 50m free.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.61/27.77
  • 100 free – 52.07/1:01.93

Also competing for Upper Arlington High School, Schueler finished eighth in the 50 free and 11th in the 100 free as a junior at the Ohio DII State Championships. She’s also a four-time OHSAA District Championship finalist, placing eighth in the 50 free and sixth in the 100 free in 2020.

Schueler will add valuable depth both individually and on relays when she suits up for the RedHawks in the fall of 2021. She would’ve been their fourth-fastest 50 freestyler on their lineup last year and is just shy of scoring range in the 50/100 free at the MAC Championships.

Congratulations to Emma and the entire Schueler family!
