October 29, 2020
Hey PRASC family;
We have just received an email from the Prince Rupert Recreation Complex manager. There has been an update to the user policy; masks are now MANDATORY in all indoor public areas of the recreation complex (as of October 29, 2020).
So what does that look like for us as a club? When do we need to wear masks?
- Any time we are in the lobby or entryway.
- While entering the facility – wear your mask when you arrive (including the area outside the door), until you reach your “spot” on the deck.
- While leaving the facility – wear your mask from your “spot” on the deck, until you have completely left. (Evening Masters – this means we mask up as we leave the pool and enter the changeroom as the public is already on deck and in the lobby at this time).
We don’t need to mask up while on deck or in the pool, or if we run to use the bathroom in the change room during practice (we only let one swimmer in there at a time, and we are the only pool users during our practice times).
We’ve been doing a great job as a club of maintaining all these new safety protocols, and as a result we’ve been able to continue to swim. Thank you all so much for your flexibility and cooperation. Go Rapids Go!
