Here we go! Nov 23rd Leisure Pool for Phins 2&3

Good-morning everyone,

By way of this message, we would like to provide an update in regards to the Bell Aliant Centre (BAC) centre.

LEISURE POOL AND PHINS 2 AND 3

We are pleased to confirm that Phins 2 and 3 will commence training at the Bell Aliant Centre’s leisure pool the week of November 23.

In an effort to keep as close to the original schedule as we can, Phins 2 is scheduled for every Monday, Wednesday, Friday either from 4:30 – 5:30 pm or 5:30 – 6:30 pm and Saturday from either 9:00 – 10:00 am or 10:00 – 11:00 am. There will be two sessions of a maximum of 14 swimmers in each.  Coaches Donna, Emily and Tom will determine the two groups and lanes and will send this to Phins 2 before the start of the first practice, November 23.

Phins 3 will run every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:15-5:15 and 5:15-6:15. Similar to Phins 2, there will be two sessions of a maximum of 14 swimmers in each.  Coaches Julie and Tom will determine the two groups and lanes and will send this to Phins 3 before the start of the first practice, November 24.

Coaches will send all Phins 2 and 3 swimmers and families further details with respect to where to enter, mask wearing, medical information and other Covid-19 requirements prior to commencing the first practice.  It is important to note that we anticipate little movement between groups once they are formed and this is for the purpose of contact tracing.  Coaches will be submitting attendance after each session both to the BAC staff and myself and Coach Tom.

COMPETITIVE POOL

We hope to hear further news from BAC with regards to the competitive pool sometime the week of November 16.  BAC staff is expecting a report this week or early next week which will determine next steps and when the competitive pool can be expected to open.  Fingers crossed that BAC’s posting to open possibly by the end of November comes true.

In the meantime, we are pleased to see swimmers attending the swim practices at the Town and Country Aquatic Plus pool in Montague as well as the dryland training at UPEI.

CBAC ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM):  November 18

CBAC’s AGM will be held November 18 from 7:00 – 8:00 pm and virtually.  The agenda, meeting documents and virtual meeting information will be posted on our website in the next day.

We will continue to update you once we hear further news. Thank you for patience.  Stay safe and well.
