The Super Scoop with Coach Ray

Dear Super Bronze and Super Squad Families,

Last weekend, we had another successful meet for our Super Bronze and Super Squad swimmers! On behalf of the Wahoo staff and the YMCA, I would like to thank everyone’s cooperation during these difficult times. All swimmers, timers, and volunteers did a great job following the guidelines set forth by the town and state. We will continue to follow these rules and guidelines set forth, to ensure safety for all our swimmers and YMCA members.

Practice Changes:

** On FRIDAY and SATURDAY NOVEMBER 13-14, there will be NO PRACTICE for Super Bronze or Super Squad, due to our two-day swim meet for the older Wahoo swimmers. **

-        Super Squad is continuing to work on strengthening our kicks for all four strokes. After the last two meets, we are making sure we have a strong knowledge of all swimming rules. Walking through each event, push offs, turns, and finishes. Over the next couple weeks, we will continue to challenge our swimmers, with new drills, practice sets, all while having fun.

-         Super Bronze has been doing pretty similar work to Super Squad, as far as working on push-offs, turns, finishes, and rules and guidelines to every swimming event. We have been using fins in order to increase the strength and balance of our drills and swims.

If anyone has any questions, comments, or concerns. Please, feel free to reach out to Coach Eric or I at any time!
