FALL SPRINT MEET
UPDATE TO COVID-19 HANDBOOK
CONTRACT EXTENSIONS

PRACTICE CHANGES

There is no Senior morning practice on Thursday, November 19, in anticipation of the meet.  Coach Nelson will advise on morning practices next week.

There are no Senior practices this Saturday or Sunday, November 21-22, due to the meet this weekend.

As of now, there will be a normal practice schedule for the entire team for Thanksgiving weekend, minus Thanksgiving Day.  There will be no practices for any group at any location on Thanksgiving Day, November 26.

WEEKEND PRACTICE SIGN-UPS

Thank you, Competitive Program families, for your continued cooperation in signing up for weekend practices.  As has been mentioned several times before, these sign-ups allow families to have flexibility on the weekends on a week-by-week basis, while still making sure that each practice is within the state's regulations for the number of swimmers per lane.

Please make sure to sign up for a practice that you plan on attending.  Please also sign up for just one practice for the weekend.

Please remember that while some groups may not fill up on either day, the coaching staff would still like families to sign up their swimmers for their location's Senior, Junior, or Mini practice to get in the habit in the event that a group gets bigger later on in the season.

KYFW Program groups do not have sign-up pages because as weekend-only groups, all weekend practices are open to swimmers by default.

FALL SPRINT MEET

The Fall Sprint Meet is Saturday, November 21, at Thomas McKean High School.  This is a one-day meet for Senior swimmers.

Volunteers are still needed for this meet.   Each volunteer position, listed on the Job Signup page that can be found on the Meet Page, is essential to running a smooth meet for the benefit of your swimmer.  Volunteers who are currently signed up may be switched by the administrative staff to other volunteer positions, in order to make sure that health and safety protocols are followed throughout the meet.  As a reminder, it is Delaware Swim Team's policy that a family must provide at least one volunteer at a team-hosted meet, if a swimmer in the family is participating in the meet.  You will find this on page 24 of the Team Handbook, which was agreed to upon registration.

A separate email with heat sheets and other information about the meet will be sent out tomorrow or Friday.

UPDATE TO COVID-19 HANDBOOK

An updated Covid-19 Handbook was sent out two weeks ago to all Delaware Swim Team families.  The new handbook is available here, and is also available in the Documents tab of the team website.

Cooperation from all families and swimmers is absolutely necessary in order to maintain as safe of an environment as possible, and mitigate any issues that may arise as the pandemic continues through the winter.  With the Governor of Delaware beginning to implement stricter regulations, compliance with ALL aspects of our Covid-19 Handbook is needed in order to demonstrate that youth sports can continue through the winter.

CONTRACT EXTENSIONS

For those of you that signed up just for Session 1 of this season, now is a good time to begin to consider if you want to extend your contract beyond November 30.  It is easy for the administrative staff to extend your contract, and is easiest before November 30.  You can check your contract status on the team website at My Account>My Account>gray "Members" tab>Roster|Location|Billing Setup.  If you would like your contract extended, please email Coach Matt at [email protected] by November 30.

Thanks,
The Delaware Swim Team coaching staff
