November 19, 2020
Well, I am I think FINALLY coming back to myself! Thank you everyone for your patience and understanding.
I do have several updates and I am sorry for the length of this email in advance.
1. NEW COLD WEATHER CHECK IN PROCEDURES. Effective immediately, we are going to allow the kids to come into the lobby to wait. It is just getting too cold for the kids to wait outside before and especially after practice. Please have the kids scan their card when they walk in and then walk over and wait along the wall from the child watch area. We are going to try to keep from creating a bottle neck of a lot of people for people to pass by. The coach will then take attendence and temperatures and take the kids back into the pool area. Kids 13 and older can check themselves in and out. Kids under 13, will have to have parents come into the lobby to check kids in and out.
2. Practice over Thanksgiving. I plan to have practice like normal on Monday and Tuesday of next week. We will take Wednesday and Thursday off. I will offer a 90 minute practice on Friday and Saturday that is offered by RSVP ONLY. Friday practice will be from 3:45-5:15 and or Saturday from 2:00-3:30. If we do not have atleast 4 people signed up, then I will not hold those practices. I know that things do change, and people get ill, I just want to make sure that if we plan to have coaches there, we have swimmers that show up. Please email me at [email protected] if you plan to come to either of these practices.
3. YMCA Nationals cancelled short and long course nationals for the 2021 year.
4. I want to thank all of our families again for being cautious and careful. Everyone has been overly careful about making certain that the kids are healthy when coming to swim practice. I know that this has impacted the number of kids that we have had in practice, as kids have had to quarentine after being exposed at schools, etc. We are just going to keep working with the kids to have them improve their skills and keep them moving. This year is just a bit more about building skills and staying healthy than anything else!
I hope you and your family are doing well. If I do not have a chance to tell you directly, Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
