The Governor has re-opened pools for lap swim and competitive training beginning on January 4. For the week of January 4 - January 10 there will be more strict guidelines than in the past, so we can meet the requirements of the latest order and the guidelines of the Lake Crystal Area Recreation Center.
I am working with the LCARC on a schedule that will allow for the most safety for our kids. I don’t have exact details from the rec center at this time, but I will announce the plan once we have it nailed down. For now, what our swimmers and families should expect is very similar to how we operated when we returned to the pool at the beginning of July.
Swimmers will remain at least 6 feet apart both on deck and in the water.
No more than 5 swimmers per lane.
Training groups will practice at different times (this means that swimmers in Senior 1 will swim at a different time than swimmers in Senior 2, for the first week at least). We will work with the LCARC to accommodate the 100 members in the building rule.
All Age Group swimmers will still train together.
All Novice swimmers will remain together.
Training sessions will be shorter so we can accommodate all groups.
Again, more specific information will come out as I receive it. For now, I will activate all current registered athletes minus our high school boys who will be with their HS teams.
When we regain our sense of “normal”, we will work on the details of our postponed competition with Neptune Swim Team and any future competitions. Stay tuned.
Please let me know what questions you have, and I will do my best to get you an answer.
I am remaining optimistic that Mantas Swim Club is striving to provide our athletes with the best experience possible.
