Teaching Tuesday: 12 & Under Tech Suit Restriction

Do you have a 12 & Under swimmer in need of a racing suit for a championship season and you are not sure if it meets requirements? Look no further!
These new rules were put into effect on September 1, 2020, because many younger athletes do not need to have compression racing suits. The following information includes what you should look for when purchasing a tech suit for your 12 & under athlete, as well as some resources to help you find approved suits and explain in more detail why the rule was changed.
Approved suits DO NOT have:
- Bonded seams
- Woven fabric
Approved suits HAVE:
- Sewn seams
- Knit fabric
