News from the Pool- Week of March 28
*The current session has been extended through Saturday, April 17. All schedules remain the same through that date.
SUMMER LESSONS: We will be offering multiple programs this summer for those learning to swim, refining their strokes or swim team members looking for more practice. Registration opens 4/1 for these programs. Check out the offerings below under the “Swim Lesson” tab.
www.swimatsjsrc.com will offer Race Team and swim lessons for SJSRC members
www.swimsouthbay.org will offer Mobile Lessons (we come to YOUR pool), as well as lessons in the Endless Pool (weekday sessions and Saturday lessons available.)
UPCOMING DUAL MEET: We will be having another dual meet with Osprey at Willow Glen HS at the end of April. RSVP on the site now. As soon as the event choices are uploaded, I will contact those that have RSVPed to select events. So excited for this opportunity for our kids!
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE END OF THE SPRING SESSION? As of right now, we are not sure when the end of the Spring session will be. We ARE able to extend the current session out one more week to all of our currently registered families. We will keep our swimmers in their same groups at the same times through April 17 (no additional fees.) We are waiting on those who organize pool time to get us the available pool times moving forward. We are also trying to expand into different pools in the immediate area, as we have many people waiting for spots on the team.
Every week brings new information and new connections. If you have suggestions, connections or can offer up any help, I would be so grateful. We did have 9 people write letters of support to the district leaders. I am hopeful that on a team with nearly 190 swimmers, we have to have someone who knows someone that can help!
HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMERS: If your high school swimmer is currently on the roster, but will NOT be swimming with us, please let me know. We are basing the amount of pool space we need on our current roster. Some schools allow them to swim club+school team, others only allow them to swim with the school program. We do not want to impede on their high school experience and do not think it is right to tell them they can not swim with their high school program (that is up to your family as to what you decide.)
HOME RENTAL AVAILABLE: A former BAY family is renting out their 4 bedroom/2 bath house with updated kitchen and bathrooms and is one block from Crossgates. Includes cabana membership, air conditioning and gardener. Contact: [email protected]
LOST AND FOUND: There are many things that have been left behind at the Crossgates pool. If your swimmer is missing kickboards, pull buoys, fins, goggles, water bottles or clothes, please have them check the cement bench behind the baby pool at check in. Everything will be donated at the end of the week if not collected.
PHOTOS PLEASE: Do you have any horizontal or vertical photos of your swimmers at practice or meets for the BAY archives? The horizontal photos are for the team website and the vertical photos are for our walks down memory lane each Wednesday on our team Instagram account. Thank you in advance (and enjoy reminiscing!)
TIME TRIAL RESULTS: Great event yesterday! The weather was exceptional, we had so much parent help and the kids did a great job. Check out the results.
ADDITIONAL SWIM TIMES: Saturday Time Trials and Sunday Lap Swim are open for registration through the “ events” page of the website. These are great ways to get more pool time, work with coaches and connect with friends!
