Age Grouper Update: Wahoo Week, Spring Break, Long Course Season

ÿHello Wahoo Swimmers and Families,

Wow, what a weekend of racing! The number of best times, first-time events, proper skills and smiles were off the charts! Our swimmers from all squads have truly embraced the excitement of competitive swimming and the importance of skill-based swimming development. This was clearly shown this weekend! Look for a meet recap email later this week with some fun stats about the meet. Thank you to all our parent volunteers who made this meet happen!

We are entering the final week of our short course season! To celebrate, we will be having some fun activities, challenges, and events during practices. Our Squad parents will also be visiting practices to take some photos of our swimmers for our team yearbook! On the days below, please try to wear your TEAM SUIT and SWIM CAP to practice.

·       SUPER BRONZE : Thursday April 1

·       SUPER SQUAD : Wednesday March 31

·       MAROON : Monday March 29 and Wednesday March 31

·       GOLD : Tuesday March 30 and Wednesday March 31


Wahoos will be taking Squad photos on Wednesday before or after practices. Please wear your MASK and TEAM T-SHIRT for the photo!

Wahoos will continue to have normal practices for all squads through Thursday, April 1.

Beginning Friday, April 2, All Wahoos will have a break from practices to rest and recover from our busy season. Practices will resume on the following Days:

·       MAROON, GOLD, SUPER SQUAD : First Practice Back Wednesday, April 14

·       SUPER BRONZE : First Practice Back Thursday, April 15

MOVE-UPS AND SPRING PRACTICE SCHEDULE : We will be moving some swimmers to different practice groups for the Long Course Season. These move-ups are based on Coach Ray and my assessment of each swimmer based on their technical skills, cognitive swimming knowledge, practice attendance/performance, meet performance. ANY MOVE-UPS WILL BE COMMUNICATED ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31.

When we return to practices for our long course season on April 14 or 15, we will have a new spring schedule. This schedule will stay mostly the same in terms of days per week and time of practices for each squad but allow for more practices per week for each swimmer. SPRING SCHEDULE WILL BE COMMUNICATED ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31.
