2012 MVS Championships - Meet Update


12 & Under Championships information

 Parents & Swimmers,

Below are some additional pieces of information for the MVS Championship meet comming up this weekend. Please visit the MVS event page for the Championship Meet for complete information. 

  • Athlete, Coach, Volunteer waivers are online and MUST be completed by everyone entering the building. No exceptions. If you completed one for 13 & Over portion, you do NOT need to complete another. The self health screening will go live 24 hours prior to the facility opening.
  • We are running one prelims and one finals session each day. Meet information has been adjusted to reflect the event order. We will start with an 11-12 event and then run the corresponding 10 & Under event. The event numbers are wonky, but the events themselves correlate. This will minimize the need for large breaks after each event cycle. This order will be run for prelims and finals.
  • At finals, we will present medals to the top 3 finishers after each event cycle. Help your swimmers get to the designated spot after their races. We do not have a podium available to us at Gladstone. If you know of one we can use, please let me know. I'm happy to arrange transport for the weekend.
  • Spectators: Due to facility limits, we will only allow one spectator per family. We will hand out a bracelet to each family as they check in for the meet. All spectators will need to wear their bracelet in order to be admitted into the facility. They will be removable, so sharing between parents will be allowed. Unfortunately, Gladstone does not have a livestream setup. If you have one you are willing to utilize for the weekend, please let me know and we can make arrangements to stream the meet.
  • I will send a psych sheet as soon as I get it from meet admin. They are in the final stages, so you can expect that in the next 24 hours. 
  • We will have individually wrapped breakfast and lunch items. Please circulate through and do not congregate in the hospitality area for long periods of time. Dinner will not be served, so you will be on your own for that.
  • Let's keep the deck presence to a minimum. If you do not have athletes for a few heats, find an out of the way space if you can. It's going to be more crowded at this facility, just be mindful of those around you. If you have multiple coaches, schedule your heats, rotate in and out. Remember, 1-9 athletes = 1 coach, 10-19 athletes = 2 coaches, 20+ athletes = 3 coaches.
  • Mask wearing is a must unless you are in the act of eating or drinking. This policy extends to athletes, officials, and volutneers as well. We will provide baggies, disposable masks, and straps for athletes to wear their masks while wearing a cap. Meet personnel are going to be strict on this, and there will be little tolerance for violations. Everyone is subject to removal from the meet.
