The Northern Kentucky Clippers are proud to announce that the class of 2011 has finalized their college plans for the upcoming fall. We are very proud of our 2011 class and very excited about their decisions on where they will attend college. Below is a brief description of each swimmer and where they decided to go. We will be celebrating their choices at this year’s College Signing Party (Date: TBD)


Spencer Franzoi – Will be attending and swimming for Ohio Northern University. Spencer began his swimming career with the Clippers 10 years ago. This season Spencer became 1 of 4 guys to ever break a minute in all 100’s of each stroke.

Ryan Haas – Has been appointed to the United States Air Force Academy. Ryan will be swimming for the Air Force Falcons as well. Ryan began his swimming career 11 years ago for the Clippers. He currently ranks 8th in Clipper History in the 100 fly and 4th in the 100 back .

Natalie Lawson – Has decided to attend the University of Kentucky. Unfortunately she has decided to end her swimming career. This past winter Natalie recovered from double knee surgery to finish off her great career as a Clipper, she was the last swimmer to have practiced while the Clippers were at their first home Scott High School.

Stephen Mcmurtry – Will be attending and swimming for MIT(Massachusetts Institute of Technology). Stephen becomes the first Clipper to be accepted to the historic school. Stephen is a proud graduate of the Silverlake DST Program that has worked his way up to being a member of the Clippers National Team.

Louis Rodgers – Will be attending and swimming for Centre College in the fall. Louis originally joined the Clippers in 2001-2002 and then rejoined us in 2008. In 2009 he became the first Clipper boy to ever achieve a junior national cut in the breaststroke events paving the way for many more to follow.

David Thomas – Will be attending and swimming for the University of Chicago in the fall. Dave will be the first Clipper to swim for the University of Chicago. Four and a half years ago, Coach Chad saw something in Dave’s swimming and the rest is history.

Sarah Truskot – Has been appointed to the United States Naval Academy. Sarah will also be representing the Naval Academy’s swim team. Sarah joined the Clippers in the fall of 2009 and became a member of the Clippers National Training group in the spring of 2010.

Lauren Vennefron – Will be attending and swimming for St. Francis University(Pa). Lauren has been a member of the Clippers for 11 years. This past winter Lauren saw all of her hard work pay off by qualifying to represent the Clippers at the NCSA Junior Nationals in Orlando.

Ellen Williamson  - Will be attending and swimming for the University of Virginia.  Ellen has been a Clipper for 10 years. This past year was an unbelievable year highlighted by earning her way onto the 2010-2011 National Youth Team.
