MARIN PIRATES WELCOME OLYMPIAN NATHAN ADRIAN

Due to our Silver Medal Club status, USA Swimming recognized the Pirates with a visit from Olympian Nathan Adrian on Thursday, June 9th at 6 p.m.  Nathan spoke to the team and was available for pictures and autographs.  Nathan Adrian has won a total of ten medals in major international competition, nine gold, and one silver spanning the Olympics, the World, and the Pan Pacific Championships.
 

Adrian started swimming at the age of 5 and grew up in Bremerton, Washington, swimming for the Tacoma Swim Club. Adrian -studied pre-med at UC Berkeley and would like to be a doctor one day. At Cal , Adrian was a five-time individual NCAA champion: Winning the 50-yard freestyle in 2009 and 2011 and the 100-yard freestyle in 2009, 2010, and 2011. Won gold at the 2008 Olympics by swimming on the 400m free-relay.) Won four gold medals at the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships. Took home two gold medals at the 2009 FINA World Championships in the 400m free relay and the 400m medley relay (pr) . Earned two National Titles in the 50m and 100m free at the 2010 National Championships won and set American records in the 50y and 100y free at the 2009 NCAA Championships. Member of the 400m free-relay team that broke the world record at 2008 Short Course Worlds.
