First, a correction to last night's new post: Phi Nguyen swam to a 7th place finish in the 13-14 100 breaststroke. Great job, Phi!
In the finals tonight Andrew Rangel, Jacob Garcia, and Ellinore Duncan each broke or matched a team record. It was a night for breaststroke records as Rangel, Garcia, and Duncan each set new records in their respective age groups for the 50 breaststroke. Then Garcia closed out DTAC's Saturday night swims by matching the 12 year old's 50 fly record of 30.01.
Thunder relays were tremendous today as all but one relay scored better than expected. Diana Gomez, Rangel, Ally Padilla, and Finn Lynch returned to race for Top 16 ranking in their respective swims. Garcia, Duncan, and Nguyen returned to race in the Top 8 for their respective events.
After a great night of relay and individual swims, Desert Thunder has moved from eleventh to tenth place for team standings. Arizona Aquatics is hanging right behind, lagging by only 8.5 points. Tomorrow brings another line-up of strong individual swims as well as a large contingent of Thunder relays.
Great swimming Thunder!!!
